The church [of St. Joseph] was erected on ten acres of land just south of Stoneham deeded by Mrs. J.O. (Maggie Haynie) of Stoneham on July 19, 1909 to Rev. Bishop Gallagher. The building was of modified New England style and large enough to accommodate the growing Polish membership that migrated into the area.
