The Guardian
Angels Senior Club of St. Mary and St. Joseph is a parish ministry
catering to those 50 and over. Each month our planning committee
meets to decide on the upcoming activities for the month.
Anyone 50 years old or over in the area are invited
regardless of denomination. Each month, we have between 30 and 70
people attend our activities.
Our Seniors have the opportunity to stay active through
prayer and fellowship with social gatherings (which always includes
a great meal) and bingo or games, (cards, dominoes, bridge) and
birthdays remembered and an occasional bus trip to the casino.
Once a year a retreat is planned for spiritual growth.
We have a chartered membership in the Aging Ministry of the Galveston-Houston
Diocese. As Part of the Northern Deanery we have 2 elected members
that represent the parish at the monthly Senior Senate meetings
in Houston and bring to our seniors information about the activities
of other parishes in the area.
The members also receive the quarterly publication
of the "Senior Chatter" for their enjoyment.
