Detailed below are descriptions of offered Catechesis programs.
All books and materials will be handed out at the Home School Parent Meeting.
Families interested in this program must also register their students by filling out the appropriate forms.
Wednesday Night Class
This is the standard method of Catechesis at St. Mary. Classes are held weekly on Wednesday nights from 7:00 pm to 8:10 pm.
Home School
As the Archdiocese allows, we permit parents to home school their children for regular CCE catechesis (Wednesday night class).
However, the Archdiocese does not allow children to be home-schooled for sacraments as it is considered a parish communal event. Therefore, any home school student planning on receiving a sacrament (Confirmation/First Communion and Reconciliation) must attend the once-a-month classes as well as all required retreats, finish service projects (if applicable), and fulfill any other obligations required for the sacrament in addition to completing their home school curriculum. All books and materials will be handed out at the Home School Parent Meeting.
Families interested in this program must also register their students by filling out the appropriate forms.
Catholic School
Catholic School can take the place of Wednesday Night Catechesis. However, we ask those parishioners who send their children to Catholic School to register their children in order to help us keep track of them for sacrament purposes.
Guidelines
- Catholic School students who plan to receive their sacraments (First Communion and Confirmation) at St. Mary must attend the once-a-month classes, required retreats and complete necessary service projects.
