PARISH REQUIREMENTS - SPECIFICS
Instruction
As specified above, students must attend the pre-requisite two years of C.C.E. classes (8th Grade and 9th Grade or 9th Grade and 10th Grade) and the Immediate Sacramental Preparation class required for receiving the sacrament of Confirmation. Attendance is important. There will be make-up work for absences. Each class will take a written review at the end of the year. Students will be assigned to write a Saint Report that will be due when they enter the ISP class.
Retreats
Students are strongly encouraged to attend any Confirmation Community Retreat that may be scheduled during the year. ISP students must attend the retreat scheduled close to their reception of the Sacrament of Confirmation.
Service
Students will do a total of 4 projects each year. (Remember to fill out a green service form for each activity you participate in. These will be available in the RE office or from your teacher.)
(Projects done for school or other organizations cannot be used for substitutions. If you have a question about whether or not a certain Parish activity qualifies for a service requirement, please be sure to ask ahead of time. Some activities, such as Music Ministry and Altar Serving, do not qualify, following Diocesan Guidelines.)
ISP Only Additional Requirements
'ISP-Only' students will be required to attend monthly ISP classes on Sundays and monthly FYI's on Wednesdays.
Sponsors
ISP students must have sponsors chosen and forms completed by the October ISP session. Sponsors are expected to take an active part in the student's Confirmation preparation and attend the Sponsor/Candidate session.
